Travel Photos: Send Slides Not Prints

Almost without exception, magazine travel editors want photographers to submit slides, not color prints. If you're unsure which your travel editor prefers, ask before going out on the shoot. Many photographers are choosing the new Velvia, Lumiere, and Provia professional slide films.

Working with slides means you don't have to go through the time-consuming and expensive process of getting prints made. Send your slides to the photobuyer in clear plastic slide pages with your most striking shots in the eye-catching upper right portion of the page. By using plastic pages, you make the editor's job easier by making it convenient to look over your photos, and you guarantee your slides maximum protection. The thin, loose-fitting plastic pages are not adequate protection; be sure to use the thick, tight-fitting plastic pages when delivering your images.
