THINK CHEAP To help guarantee your success as a travel photographer, from this moment on, think of film as cheap. Think of it as something to use up and then replace, like your letterhead or calling cards. This will help you avoid the cardinal sin of the amateur photographer - taking too few shots and ending up with only one shot, or even worse, no shots, to send your photobuyer. When on-the-job, vary those shots. Shoot the same scene from different angles, at different exposures and from different distances with different lenses. Experiment. Bracket for lighting effects. Not every image will be a prize-winner, but you'll be learning something new with each exposure. |
