MORE ON SLIDES-OR-PRINTS. What do you send-slides or prints? This one's easy to answer. For color pictures, most magazine travel editors want to see slides, not prints. So don't shoot with color print film unless it's specifically requested. Once you've edited your developed slides, before sending them to the travel editor, stamp each one with your name, address, and the copyright symbol ©. This is less time-consuming than hand-writing the information on each slide and, just as important, it will make you look like a professional. You can buy a personalized stamp at a stationery store or a print shop. But note well - the rubber stamp only works on cardboard mounts. Plastic mounts will require hand labeling. If you are computerized, look into the labeling programs available. |
