SEE WHAT OTHERS MISS.

Where there's water, there are reflections. Whether wading pool, duck pond, river or lake, subjects reflected in water make striking photos. You may have to wait until the sun is at the correct angle, but it will be worth it. By varying backgrounds and foregrounds, you can set up a whole variety of pictures in just one location.

And don't ignore repeated patterns. Rows of newly-mown hay, fence posts with ornately carved tops, a column of soldiers standing at attention, all make eye-catching subjects for travel photography.

And don't forget to move in for the details. A pot of geraniums in a window, an autumn leaf in a cobweb, and a finger on a piano keyboard are all small, but they help paint the big picture.
