Hard Goods and Merchandise
Hard goods and merchandise that are unopened (i.e. in their original packaging) may be returned within 30 days of purchase with a receipt. Hard goods and merchandise include, but are not limited to, such items as: books, batteries, camera parts or accessories, darkroom equipment, etc. Returns without a receipt may be accepted at the manager's discretion.
Photo Sensitive Materials
Because of the photosensitive and perishable nature of some materials, we are unable to accept returns on items such as, but not limited to: darkroom chemicals, photographic papers, film, etc.
We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy for all of the services that we provide here at PhotoSource. If you are not completely satisfied with the work that we have performed for you, we will first attempt to correct whatever issues there were with the original work, if the mistake is ours. If you are still unsatisfied with the service, we will refund your money in full, provided you return any deliverables that were sold to you as part of the service. All originals provided by you, the customer, will be returned to you.
However, PhotoSource is not liable for dissatisfaction arising from failure of the customer to properly or accurately communicate his/her needs at the time of service. In the event of dispute, the information recorded on the work order paperwork will act as contract and terms of service.
For example, if you order an 11x14 print on glossy paper, but then decide that you want matte paper after the first print has already been made, we will not refund the amount of the first print. We do offer discounted 'artistic proof' prints that will allow you to test your image before committing to printing something more expensive.
Photographic Restoration and Retouching
Photographic Restoration and Retouching services are non-refundable, except where manager has determined that work performed by PhotoSource was subpar, inaccurate, or generally of an unacceptable quality level.
Film Transfer Services
Film Transfer services are non-refundable, except where manager has determined that work performed by PhotoSource was subpar, inaccurate, or generally of an unacceptable quality level.
If we are unable to recover any images from your digital media, other than the ones that were accessible prior to recovery, we will refund your money in full. Partial recoveries will be charged the full service fee.
Quality of the Original
Unfortunately, we do not have a magic button or machine that can improve low-quality originals. Our staff does their best to work with the media provided to them by the customer. We cannot be held responsible for dissatisfaction arising from issues, problems, or damage on the original media.
For example, sometimes old film reels were not exposed properly when they were first recorded. When you bring us those reels and we perform a film transfer, we can sometimes make limited improvements, but are not able to fully restore quality that was not there to begin with. We are unable to process a return for footage that was of low quality to begin with.
Limit of Liability, Digital Media
Submitting any tangible or electronic media, image, data, file, card, disc, device, film, print, slide or negative for any purpose, such as processing, printing, duplication, alteration, enlargement, storage, transmission, or other handling, constitutes an AGREEMENT that any loss or damage to it by our company, subsidiary or agents, even though by our negligence or other fault, will only entitle you to replacement with an equivalent quantity/size of unexposed photographic film or electronic media. Except for such replacement, our acceptance of the media, image, data, file, card, disc, device, film, print, slide or negative is without other liability, and recovery for any incidental or consequential damages is excluded. No expressed or implied warranty is provided.
In order to obtain a full or partial refund under this policy, physical products should be shipped at your expense to the address listed below, must include your purchase information (such as a copy of your receipt) so that we can make a refund, and the products should be in merchantable condition (i.e. we could resell them because they're in good condition). Shipping expenses that you are responsible for include any delivery confirmation or insurances services as specified by PhotoSource.
